What's a good dessert for tomorrow night?

It's only family, so just me, both my boys and my oldest's boyfriend. I think I'm going to make chicken tortilla soup in the crockpot and a spinach salad.

The boys like cake and brownies but I wanted something a little different for the occasion.

Not exactly on theme, but the more I thought about it, the more I want some! Mom used to make it all the time when I was a kid (the type with Dream Whip and more pudding powder in the frosting). Yum!

my cousin in Denver while he was at University. His roommate took the car. Which meant motorcycle. Eeek!

We went to the bank and came home. It was a test to see how I'd do. He said 'Ah you did well, a natural". He explained some first time riders grab on to him too tight, too scared to say a word, or not leaning into the turn.

I rode a bike years earlier, I think that's why I did that.
Anyway we visited Red Rocks, ?Golden (saw the Opera House!), and then while trying to find Coor's ?Red Ryder bike race we went up! A lake (forgot the name) 10,000 ft up where we stopped. The Continental Divide Mountains with July snow still glistening on them on the clear distance. Swoon! An unroaded valley of ?hundreds, ?thousands of pine trees. Wooo.

Later in the week after going to South Dakota visited Colorado Springs and took a tour to Garden of The God's, and the Air Force Academy.

Tue Nov 3, 2020, 12:42 AM

do a search under "tres leches cake easy recipe".

In the speech class I taught, the students did what was known as a "process speech," meaning they had to give a speech explaining the procedure for doing something. One student did the tres leches cake and brought an entire cake in so everyone could have some. One of the most popular speeches ever!

When the RG and I used to go to the Portuguese restaurants in the Ironbound, before the pandemic, we would often order this for dessert. It's wonderful with coffee.

Just whipped egg whites and you mix in a custard of chocolate, egg yolks , sugar, vanilla, etc. Some recipes are more complicated and call for cream, but I like it without cream. It's very simple, light, but delicious. You can add a little liquour like a brandy or Chambord or something like that to make it more exotic, but it's good either way .
