(2,186 posts)I was the "vegetarian veto" that scuttled many stops there. Burger King's Impossible Whopper is pretty good when you need fast food

(8,445 posts)People like me are their target. It's doubtful that I'll ever have one because a lot of restaurants cook their plant-based burgers on the same grill that they cook their regular burgers on.

This article from 2019:
The meatless burger is becoming more popular, even among meat-eating consumers.
Some 95% of people who purchased a plant-based burger this year also ate meat, new data from market researcher NPD Group shows.
Some 228 million servings of plant-based burgers were purchased at quick-service restaurants this year, up 10% from a year ago. And while beef burgers are still the most popular burger on menus, with 6.4 billion ordered, growth is flat compared with a year ago, according to the report.
The substantial year-over-year growth in plant-based burgers is due primarily to greater availability at major fast-food chains including Burger King QSR, +7.91% and White Castle.

I used to have to drive through northeastern Colorado regularly, and it always made me pretty sad to drive past the stockyards. I've been a vegetarian for decades. I do understand that humans are omnivores, but I just don't see how anyone can approve of those places.
*humans are MOSTLY omnivores

(25,586 posts)The modern plant-based stuff is great. Unfortunately I wont be eating there because they use beef products in their fries, but many meat-eaters will choose the option at least occasionally, and I think that is a very positive development.

(55,007 posts)fake lab-produced "meat" totally grosses me out personally but I would eat an actual "veggie" burger occasionally (I don't think that is what they are offering, though. I am pretty sure it is the lab-made stuff)
