I actually went to two different Senior Prongs, because the girl I was dating went to a different high school.

Both of the prongs consisted of dancing, drunkenness, and debauchery.

She wears a beautiful dress, and the man rents a tux. Then you go to a hall and you have dinner. They have a band playing, and you dance, spike the punch bowl, get horribly drunk, go someplace to have sex in the car after the Prong, lose the jacket to the tux, lose the vest to the tux, go to the tux place the next day to return the tux, and have to pay a huge fee for the items of clothing you lost.

Then the man goes home and worries for the next month, hoping he didn't get the girl pregnant last night.

I thought all high schools had Senior Prongs?

My regular partner went to the prom.

One thing that is more certain than any other. Do not partner in debate with someone you have a romantic interest in. I want a do over on that weekend. I should have taken her to the prom instead. I didn't date much, and she was the first girl that I was ever interested in that was also interested in me.

15. I went to my own

with the guy that became DH. After a flight from DC, he literally changed from dress greens to civilian suit, white shirt and tie, in the car from the airport. For a while I considered making my own sleeveless, petal-bodiced hot pink and black satin gown, but ended up with a a very pretty $65, saved from my Woolworth paycheck, turquoise Empire-waist chiffon gown with a bead-embellished bodice with a red rose wrist corsage - a lot for them days of yore. Didn't get lucky (wink/wink) but didn't make it home that night either!

I had broken up with my first real flame before hers. She made up with me and begged me to take her to mine. We went and it turned out she only went for the photo op.

That girl broke my heart and taught me to never treat anyone else the same way.

I had a really good reason to break up with her. My cousin came home from college and proudly showed me a picture of the girl he was sleeping with once a month every time he came home to visit. Turned out it was my girlfriend. I’m still baffled as to why I agreed to bring her to my prom. Ah, well. Hormones run wild at 18.
