Speaking of British crime shows, or BritCop as I've come to call it...

...I just finished Line Of Duty and I’m looking for my next slow binge. (“Slow Binge” equals about an episode per day.)

It’s gonna be hard to beat Line Of Duty and all their balaclavas, Reg 15’s, and bent coppers.

Any suggestions?

The production values and casting are terrific, and as with the other 2, the relationship between the main characters is possibly the best part of the show. Shaun Evans doesn't physically resemble a young Morse, but carries it off anyway. Roger Allam plays his boss and mentor, Inspector Thursday.

There are some characters from the original Morse series who also make cameo appearances in Endeavour on occasion but you'd have to really know your Morse episodes to spot them.

Did you watch all seasons of Line of Duty? I think I had to track one down on Acorn, but it’s a blur.

Those shows I named aren’t strictly police procedurals but they’re British and good.

Love the Scottish Taggart for its 70s vibe. 13 seasons maybe.

The Alibi is ok. Again, not police procedural.

Trying Whitechapel. Seems ok.

The one with doc Martin is pretty good. London Kills? I ferget.

Subtitles just don't work for me.

I'm either on the computer or doing needlework when the TV is on so my eyes are busy elsewhere. My husband laughs at me because I will be reading DU, playing solitaire on my phone, and have the TV going. It's hereditary - my parents read while they had the TV on - and we kids would be at the table working on our homework.

I loved Scott and Bailey. 2 female detectives are the lead characters.

The Unforgotten is relatively new. The actress Nicola Walker has played in many UK shows that I like.

New Tricks is another series with 12 seasons. Retired detectives headed by a current woman detective superintendent. They solve cold cases.

Finally, Hamish Macbeth. This is based on a book series about a constable that lives in a small Scottish village. Robert Carlyle stars. He was also in Trainspotting and The Full Monty.

Old favorites are Midsomer Murders, Inspector Lewis, Vera, anything Agatha Christie, Doctor Blake Mysteries, Miss Fisher, Death in Paradise, Shetland,
Silent Witness, New Tricks. I'm sure I've forgotten some.

AMAZON
Scott & Bailey British 5 Seasons Amazon Prime British
Silent Witness British 23 Seasons. Several cases per season, usually 2 episodes per case. My go to when there's not much else available, or my brain is tired.
Unforgotten British 4 Seasons, Starring Nicola Walker. Excellent!

NETFLIX
The Valhalla Murders Iceland Limited Series, 1 Season
Happy Valley British 2 Seasons
Unit 42, Belgium 1 Season
Criminal, Different Series for UK, Ger, Fr Spain. So far only UK has had a 2nd season.
Bordertown, Finnish, 3 seasons
Broadchurch British, 3 Seasons 3 great actors: David Tennant, Olivia Coleman (Currently starring in "The Crown" as Queen Elizabeth) and Jodie Whittaker currently starring in Dr. Who from 2017 to present.
Money Heist Spain 4 Seasons
Deadwind Scandinavian 2 Seasons

Guess that's enough to get you through the winter!!

Unfortunately Line of Duty looks like it was dropped by Netflix, don't know where it ended up.

Every episode takes place entirely in a police interrogation room and an adjacent office where the cops do their planning. It's all about the psychology of solving crimes through the psychology of interrogation - no chases, shootings, or other violence except in descriptions and photographic evidence. It's quite well done and really interesting.
