I'd been getting calls, over the weekend, with no identifying name on the caller id, OR on the voice mails. Those just said they were calling from my 'health care plan'. So, I ignored them. Then, tonight at 10 pm (yes, 10 pm!!!!!) the phone rang again - same number - so I answered it. And, yea, it was the plan I chose for my supplemental insurance. Did I mention they were calling at 10 pm!?!?!??!??! To have me answer some survey questions!?!?!!?!?!? At 10 pm!?!?!?!?
The person calling certainly knew how I felt about getting a call at 10 pm!!!!!!!!! And the plan does now, too, because I blasted them via messenger, on their FB page. I looked and looked for an email contact, but they don't list one and I'm NOT going to call and yell at some poor customer service rep so that just seemed the quickest way for me to vent. However, I'm pretty sure I'll be composing a letter to send them, tomorrow.

Its super effective.

(26,250 posts)I actually know their CEO. I retired from a health insurance company that got gobbled up by a bigger company in Detroit and they migrated our CEO to the same position in their company. We were on very good terms. He actually threw a retirement party for me, so I think he'd pay attention, too.
I'm friends with his former administrative assistant so I'm going to see if she has some good contact info for him. I'm pretty sure she's still in contact with him.
This was just beyond unacceptable.

Good for you for taking action.

(26,250 posts)It makes NO sense to me that any legitimate company wouldn't have their name show up on caller id. When I brought this up to the caller she said they were instructed to NOT name the company unless asked!?!?! I have the same issue with the medical clinic I use. I had to program their name into my phone. Is that a HIPAA thing?
And I guess calling it a supplemental plan was DUH because I did sign up with an advantage plan. Anyway, I'll be interested to see if they get back to me. Fortunately I know the CEO so maybe I'll just fire off a letter to him, personally.

(25,816 posts)capture the phone number. I have no idea why. But it does lead me to answer unknown calls, because otherwise I'd miss about half of the calls I do want to answer.

(26,250 posts)And the number was a local number so I had no reason not to think that something catastrophic had happened to my brother, since I'm his emergency contact. It totally freaked me out, so of course I answered it, but it was actually a spoofed ROBO CALL from some place offering to help me pay off debts I don't actually have.

(36,667 posts)My girlfriend went to a local church and gave them our phone number. I got a robocall from them at 11:20 p.m...... I was not happy. I left them a voicemail . Did not even swear.

(26,250 posts)I realize the call came from some outsourced phone bank type of place, so who knows WHERE they were calling from. I'm guessing the west coast. And, apparently, they pay no attention to area codes, although that's kind of iffy now, too, depending on where you purchased your cell phone. My nephews live in N Carolina and Florida but their cell phone numbers have a Michigan area code.
Who knows if they will even get back with me but I was just really VEXED and had to unload some of that vexiness on them.
