(43,122 posts)I said i was going to get a cat. Bought a cat carrier. Went to the pet store twice a month to look at them. Was at the point of getting 3 of them. Finally gave up. My home not suitable for design and logistical reasons. I wanted the cat to keep me company, and keep me warm. I think i made the right choice. I think the cat would own me more than my owning the cat.

(12,154 posts)Then it's time to run around, knock over a couple of plants, and climb the shower curtain!
Our kitty is too old for this kind of madness now, but I can identify with several of these scenarios! During my working years, when I'd sometimes work at home, she loved to lie on the warm keyboard of my laptop when I was away from my desk for a bit. We used an instant messaging app for quick questions, group chats, etc. Occasionally she would send some very "interesting" texts on my behalf!
She even managed to execute a complicated Windows shortcut a couple of times that caused my screen image to turn upside down!! That was pretty fun -- I had to look up the fix on my phone. Regrettably, I could never get her interested in a lucrative IT job, although she was probably as qualified as some of my co-workers.

(15,805 posts)She sneaks up at night. But not during the day. Where does the hair come from????
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,660 posts)because the stuff is so light and fine - it just floats through the air and lands on the counters even if the cat herself doesn't go there. I find cat hair on things where no cat has ever walked.

(14,569 posts)My personal favorite is the Christmas Tree one. Because we have four cats and two Christmases ago, the little fellows actually climbed up into the branches of the artificial tree and got the branches all bent out of shape. Took hours to fix, and then we had to rig up a chicken wire barrier to keep it from happening again.
This will be our second year without a tree.

Well, I have let her a few times, but it's a fairly sleepless night for me!
I love the fact that she snuggles under the covers. She's so, so sweet.
