I'm starting my day with yoghurt flavored with homemade cranberry sauce, topped with pecans.

(8,201 posts)We didn't make pie this year; it was our one culinary nod to it just being the two of us. We missed the pie, but on the other hand, we watched painting instructional videos in the morning instead of cooking.

(8,201 posts)We'll probably have a repeat this evening, too, except roasted broccoli and cauliflower instead of green beans.
I've never made anything a la king, but I'll probaby do some type of chicken stir fry tomorrow. Got lots of fresh ginger in the fridge.

(21,596 posts)Im also going to a plate of food to a co-worker/friend who lives alone. Ill drop it off on their front porch.
Edit: Were going to have Turkey sandwiches for lunch and then whole T-Day meal
again for dinner, with cranberries this time! I simmer the fresh cranberries in orange juice, until reduced to a sort of compote, that is delicious hot or cold.
Yesterday, we had roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cooked organic black kale with sweet onions, cornbread dressing (were Southern, yall!), homemade turkey gravy, and homemade apple pie. I used my moms recipes for the cornbread dressing and sweet potato casserole.

I also use orange juice in my cranberry sauce. This year I only had one orange, so I used half orange juice, half apple cider with the orange zest, some fresh grated ginger, ground cloves and cinnamon. So good!
Your dinner sounds great. This yankee loves kale and cornbread.

(21,596 posts)It must be delicious! I bought two packs of fresh cranberries, so I have another to make!

(22,250 posts)the frame; I put the frame in a bag to make broth.
I had a sandwich for lunch with some tomato,
We ate all the mashed potatoes and aparagus, most of the green beans.
I am going to attempt a pot pie tomorrow.
We will probably freeze the broth and some of the meat to make a soup. My sister makes the best turkey soup. We were making bone broth before it was cool. I chuckle when I read all these people talking about bone broth like it was something new.
Our mom always used the frame of a roast chicken with the meat that didn't get eaten and made soup with it. I thought that was the only way you did it!

I've always made broth, too. I store all my vegetable scraps in the freezer until I have enough to make a batch. Easy, free, and it beats even the best storebought.
