My Chorale group sang this earlier this year. It was a magical experience.
Here's the video of the performance.
I'm in the second row from the top on the left side (sopranos).
Choral singing is one of the things I miss most about staying home.

(978 posts)I miss choral singing, too. And community band (good clarinetist in the orchestra by the way) And hand bells. We should be getting Christmas music ready! Church choir rehearsed a couple of times in the parking lot then went inside for a quick, socially distanced recording session for online worship services. It's cold and dark now ... a couple of hand bell rehearsals and recordings because it is easy to space the ringers out in the sanctuary. But band ... 125 instrumentalists in a not big enough room, all blowing hot air through their instruments. Can you say super spreader event?
We will make music in groups again. And I can't wait. Missed out on Easter music this year and now Christmas. I'm not overly optimistic for Easter 2021 either - April 4th might be pushing it for safe large group singing. But maybe band can have concerts this summer. In the meantime recordings of previous performances will have to do.
Again thanks for some great music.

(14,998 posts)We have a small but mighty choir (augmented by some local semi-professional singers) with an incredible director and brilliant organist (who can re-pitch an anthem on the fly!!!)
No Easter masses this year. And no Christmas Eve Midnight service either.
Next year.
We all stay home now so we will be here next year.

(978 posts)Love, love, love having professional section leaders - makes it so much easier for us "lesser" beings especially as this voice is getting older by the day. 😦 A really awesome director helps, too. Very demanding but oh so worth it. We have gone from being a "decent" church choir to being a really, really good one.
Next year ....
