Part II:
We are Stoyan and Dessy from Bulgaria. We are not organization, neither a shelter, we are just an ordinary couple with a big dream. Everything we provide for the stray cats is coming from our own pockets or with the help of donations from our subscribers. We have 4 cats at home, all rescued from the streets - Sopolcho & Bagheera live with us while Alexa & Rijo live with Dessy's mom, who has been feeding and caring of stray animals for the last 10 years. Bulgaria is a small and poor country with lots of stray cats and not enough kind people to take them in. Our dream is to build a shelter where we could take care of many stray cats with the help of Dessy's mom. If you would like to support us, please subscribe to our channel and share our videos with your friends and family. It would mean a lot to us ❤️

(17,862 posts)My older daughter saw her in the shelter (she was about 12). She was scared out of her mind. My daughter saw something in her though, and she called me at work. I told her to get the dog immediately because another family was interested in it. It took a long time for her to warm up to me (we think she had been abused by a man).
My daughter won several ability titles with her, and competed with her three times nationally (finishing 4th twice as well as winning Top Junior Handler).
Dogs that are rescued are something else. They seem to always have something to prove. Our girl is retired now from agility and her girl (my older daughter) has her own home and dogs. She still gives cries of joy whenever my daughter comes over.
We have corralled several loose dogs over the years and made an effort to connect them with their owners. Some we have had to turn over to the shelter, but a couple we were able to find their owners. I usually walk the dog in the neighborhood hoping that someone will recognize it, or sit outside my house with the dog hoping that the owner comes by and sees the dog. We almost lost our boy right after we got him so we know how scared dog owners are when their "kids" are missing.

(21,129 posts)He, too, is along haired dachshund rescued in sub freezing temperatures in sub-optimal conditions. He is my best buddy.
He has survived a pit-bull attack, a liver issue, and a neck injury that temporarily crippled his entire body.
A free rescue has cost more over $15 grand. I'd spend it again. I have rescues many a dog in my life. I cannot match the couple mentioned in your links.

(205,237 posts)I have had 4 cockers in my life, the pup I grew up with and the other 3 were senior rescues. They were all wonderful dogs and I had my beloved Barney who I adopted at age 10 or 11 for 8 wonderful years, the best temperament of any dog I've known.
