The drums of Tom Sawyer are an absolutely integral part of the song, so being off by so much as a quarter-beat is a complete disaster.
Cue a then 15-year old girl:

(8,571 posts)The drum track is on behind her and you can hear Neil drumming what she cannot, either due to the lack of kit or lack of experience.
I want to see what Olivia will do.

(4,739 posts)Of course you're right she wasn't absolutely perfect, but then again most any drummer would probably do no better...even Steve Smith.

(8,571 posts)Before he died. And he told people that she had "it." Since we don't have video of Olivia, there's no way to know whether she is better or not, unless you personally know them. I wasn't making comparisons anyway; I was noting that his daughter is one I would be interested to see.

(8,571 posts)I believe Carrie mentioned it in the RS interview that came out last month. There's been a lot of articles about Neil in the last couple of months, because of the anniversary. I can't remember which article or person related that he said she had "it" I do remember that they described it as him mean in ng she had that sense of rhythm and timing.
You say she's amazing but how do you know that? As far as I know, there's never been a video of her drumming, and I really don't think Carrie would have allowed it, knowing how obsessive fans can be about him. Not while she's still a child.
