(21,428 posts)Some previous cats of mine liked chasing down the wrinkles with me as I smoothed them out. The current one prefers to have the bed made over her. Eagerly positions herself for it, then swats at me from underneath.

(16,368 posts)Except that I usually have to remove the cat before removing the sheets, put the bottom sheet on, remove the cat again, and so on. (She's a persistent little beastie.)
wnylib
(21,428 posts)keep removing her and just made up the bed over her. I expected she would rush out from underneath the sheets, having learned her lesson. Instead, she loved it and expects it now. She waits until I am in the process of putting on the top sheet, then crawls under it and follows my hand movements at each step, with paw swats.
Other times, she crawls under the fitted bottom sheet after I get 2 or 3 corners anchored.
She lives peekaboo and ambush games.

However, I'm sure everyone knows the old saying - and March definitely cam in like a lamb here - so going out like a lion should be no surprise.

(23,208 posts)You have no idea how much happiness you bring to DU!
Love the "cleaning out the attic"/National Geographic pic! There is a science humor magazine called "The Journal of Irreproducible Results" that gave out its "Ignoble Prize" to an article that claimed that in a hundred years or whatever, the North American continent would sink ten feet under the weight of NatGeo magazines that nobody threw away. I plead guilty to contributing to that--I have NatGeo magazines from the late 60s and early 70s that I refuse to throw away. Many cover things like the Apollo and Gemini spaceflights, and the Viking Mars landings. They won't go anywhere as long as I can draw a breath.

(11,563 posts)Thank you, as always.
Seeing the Blockbuster coupon was funny. In her capacity as a Director of the Boys and Girls Club of America in Ft Lauderdale, she was acquainted with many rich and famous people, who were donors - often very generous ones.
Wayne Huizenga and his wife were two of those. They were massively rich, being owners or co-owners of National Rent-A-Car, Waste Management (his foundational business), the Marlins, the Dolphins, the Panthers and, unsurprisingly, Blockbuster Video.
For all his reputation as a take-no-prisoners business tycoon, he and his wife's genuine, kind-hearted mantra was "If it's for kids or animals, just tell us where and when."
There were a surprising number of celebrities that were Club Kids, and most were very generous, but none like the Huizengas. At one big-deal fundraiser, where, among other large donations, Jay Leno donated $250,000.
When WH joined him on the stage, Leno said "Oh-oh. You're about to make me look like a cheapskate, aren't you?" WH said "Yep." Then promptly pledged to match the total raised that day, dollar for dollar.
This little anecdote has nothing to do with the above meandering tale, but I found it heart-warming. At another event, my wife was as busy as a one-armed wallpaper-hanger, as the expression goes. Hardly surprising, being in charge of organization and problem-solving, as usual.
There was a very pleasant middle-aged couple with name tags, like everyone else. "Bob" and "Betty", or whatever. No surnames. They worked the concessions for several hours, and when she had a moment to breathe, my wife made her apologies for being so neglectful of manners and gratitude. She introduced herself, then they "completed" there introductions with "Nice to meet you. We are Betty and Bob (or whatever) duPont."
Billionaires rolling up their sleeves for kids. Whatever else the duPont family might have ever done, that moment endeared those two family members to me.
