First of all, please don't reply if you're only going to tell me how bad it is and I shouldn't be there. I am confined to my house ALONE and speaking is VERY difficult. I belong to many FB groups, it how I manage to stay the least bit connected to the world around me.
I do post quite frequently in those groups and have NEVER had an issue, until today.
I just received a notice/ban for posting too frequently. I looked - 16 times since 8am. I've seen people post more than that on a single thread within MINUTES.
No time limit was given, I can still like posts, but I can't make one or comment. I've had an account for 12 years. I'm obviously NOT a bot. What is this fresh hell? Is it permanent? How do I know? And is there anything I can do about it??

(4,657 posts)from all of Facebook, for frequent posting. Did they?

(4,516 posts)It does looks exactly like I was banned posting too much. They weren't even controversial posts!! Posts in music and movie groups, posts in dog forums to ask and answer questions, posts in sewing and beading forums for the same, in cooking forums to exchange recipes. I don't get it.
It's like I have been thrown into solitary with no reason given as to why and no one telling me how long I will be there.

(18,639 posts)First, appeal it.
Second, read this. https://www.rd.com/list/banned-from-facebook/
And I agree...sometimes the things they do are just maddening and make no sense but it's their toy.

(4,516 posts)Friend requests are turned off. I don't have any or want any, so I haven't been poking or spamming anyone either.
I haven't joined any new groups in 6 months.
I've been banned before. They ALWAYS tell you for how long, not this one. No mention of how many posts were too many, how many groups were too many.

(4,516 posts)Normally a ban is issued in notifications - nothing there about this.

(18,639 posts)Nothing ever pops up.
Run a malware scanner.
If you can still post it's BS.

(4,516 posts)"You do not have permission to use this feature." If I were banned why can I still react to posts?
First thing I did was run a scan and I have GREAT protection. Nothing there. No issues elsewhere in the system.
Time for a new account apparently.

(18,639 posts)I set up a 2nd account for that very reason and recently I decided to add all my existing friends. SO MANY of them said, 'you've been hacked..is this you' etc. Some days I really hate FB but I use it to run my animal charity so...

(4,516 posts)I checked all the posts made from my account today and I did make all of them. Nothing funky there.
