(62,346 posts)She's feeling much better now.
The first shot caused her no problem.
So - not trying to scare you. Congratulations on joining the vaccinated!

(6,206 posts)I had symptoms - clammy, aches & pains, headache & feeling tired. After 2 days I felt better. My husband had the same symptoms. I've seen where it means your immune system is working well.

(449 posts)It lasted a couple of days, sore joints, and feeling exhausted. After the 3rd day I felt great.

(101,730 posts)any other medical care I've provided in decades. People are universally happy--even if some approach it with anxiety. Those I reassure (who don't want to provide id and thus are likely undocumented residents) are even happier. I've dealt with the higher risk groups that have had prior anaphylactic reactions to various foods or substances (that are required to come inside, masked under supervision for at least a half-hour afterward) and have yet to have one not be immensely relieved when they walk out following their first or second booster dose. The low-risk folks that come through the drive-through lines are even more ecstatic, having not built up so much anxiety.
Congratulations. But, wear your mask.
To all who have or are about to be vaccinated.

(1,999 posts)I got first Pfizer and have just been feeling sleepy. I think that may be from the "trying not to sleep on the sore arm" part, moreso than a direct effect of the vax.

(53,833 posts)I got my second yesterday. I was initially fine, but during the "evening" (to me, I keep odd hours), I had some "fire" pain shoot through my back. I had a slight headache and body aches, but no fever or nausea. All in all, it started out better than my first dose, but took a turn about 16 hours in. I am doing better now. If you are like most, your arm will hurt for about three days.

(202,989 posts)So glad to hear it! I got Moderna as well, shot #2 two weeks ago. I felt pretty rotten the night and the day after my second shot, but I'm sure you've read that here and reactions will vary. But my temporary physical discomfort was nothing compared to the relief I felt at finally actually getting the vaccine - nothing was available anywhere in this part of New York until the pharmacies started offering it and I got an appointment within driving distance. Now they are offering appointments practically in my neighborhood!
And one thing I really got a kick out of was learning that Dr. Fauci got the Moderna "Fauci Ouchi" as well!
