with the toilet in an apartment we had several years ago (decades ago). The apartment manager took off the tank lid and pressed down on the ball float. Our 6 month old kitten sat on the sink watching. When the manager removed his hand, the kitten pressed the ball and looked at us as if to ask if he had done it right. Manager cracked up laughing at kitty's helpfulness.
