(20,142 posts)That's why Michael J Fox added the middle initial. There was already an actor named Michael Fox.
Niagara
(7,557 posts)confusion with actor Jimmy Stewart.
Also, David Bowie was born David Robert Jones, he changed his name to avoid confusion with Davy Jones.
Nowadays, there's so many more celebrities with the same name. It can get confusing.

(4,137 posts)We were neighbors for over twenty years. Nice lady
Niagara
(7,557 posts)Did she reside in PA?
Baltimike
(4,137 posts)She and her two best friends, a guy and a gal who got married, all lived in a house that they remodeled to suit them. The couple had two kids, and both of them, the couple, predeceased Ms. Mary, who their kids called Aunt Mary. After she passed away, they had an estate sale, and it was so cool to see how they divided the home so that she had an apartment on the first floor and the four member family had the other half of the first floor and the second floor. It looked to be updated to the hilt around the 1970's, and word was that her brother Charles kicked in some money for the renovations. She was a nice lady who was quiet but got outside for some sunshine every day.
on edit: the kids did nothing about the house while Aunt Mary was still alive. Only after she passed away did they have any kind of sale. I love that they waited and didn't make her feel any further destabilized. She had already lost both of her best friends.

(7,557 posts)Thank you for sharing this story and your knowledge.
I'm glad to hear that someone was looking our for her. I know that in their younger days as kids the entire family had it rough financially. Charles didn't like to talk about himself too much, but he did say in an interview that he had to wear his sisters dresses to school since they were that poor. It's nice to hear that he was able to help his sister out with home renovations as well.

Hes from the cluster of small towns outside of Johnstown, PA, where my family is from. Its a story we always heard at Christmas, when I was young and my Grandmas sisters were visiting. I miss those ladies so much!
