I had heard about this film...many times..."It's a Wonderful Life"...Jimmy Stewart...& had never seen it...
so.........I got a 16mm print at the downtown Chicago Public Library in the 70s sometime...and showed it to myself............... ..(long before video tapes.) on a screen with a 16mm projector that I had got from my aunt.....................

and when it was over....I cried for the first time ....out of HAPPINESS.......or ..........HAPPY TEARS.....

and it was ...WONDERFUL..!!!!!! this film almost had me crying happy tears again...

Who would not love that face alone. I fostered while in college (I had hardwood floors, not carpet) and my first adult dog had a broken spirit. Beanie wouldn't even go up the steps. Within a week she was all over the place, happy as a dog should be. She was adopted by a nice family with a small farm...I got to interview them. I wish I had hardwood floors now. I would have a foster in a minute.

I would at the very least go sit right by them and most likely keep petting them and talking gently to them.

idk - That part just bothered me. I'm glad he's happy now though.

He had spent the first 10 years of his life in isolation at a puppy mill as a stud and was rescued when the breeders found him no longer useful. He was the friendliest, gentlest dog I've ever met and when I took him for walks it would be like he was discovering the world for the first time. One time he got very excited and pulled on the leash because he had found a new friend but it turned out to be just a tree stump. Like I always say, there is no easier way to increase the net amount of happiness in the world than to make a dog happy.
