1. We used to plan out weekends around Blockbluster...

And that wasn’t all that long ago.

3. And it could get... fraught...

I remember hearing that Trainspotting had a "hot performance" by Ewan MacGregor.

So I went to the videostore and found the tape and brought it to the counter, only to find... the clerk was a boy who was in my son's high school class!

I started to back away, but he took the tape and started ringing it up. Then he stopped. "Ah, yeah, Ewan MacGregor. Never met a full frontal nudity scene he didn't like."

I found myself stammering, "No, uh, I heard it had a great portrayal of heroin addiction!"

(Which wasn't a lot more acceptable, really.)

(And the film was DREARY and depressing, and the full frontal lasted about a split second.)

Better the privacy of one's own Amazon Prime Video....
