5. The account of the 11 yo saved by tourists from a saltwater crocodile in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

at the Marriott resort with apparently minimal warning signage. Swimming in the ocean at night and onlookers rushed in to help. (kudos to them)

Who knew, Puerto Vallarta had saltwater crocodiles on their beaches (the really big, aggressive kind)? I didn't.
