A bout of insomnia left me unable to sleep until I heard the birds in a laurel hedge outside my window wake up in the morning. One would chirp, then another would answer. Soon all the birds who had spent the night in the hedge were chirping and talking and I could drop off to sleep. No more insomnia but still have a strange sleep schedule.
