The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI was in the pet food store today, and I had a revelation
The revelation?
The next RWNJ manufactured hysteria.
For many years food manufacturers have included the weight/volume of their products in American - pounds and ounces - as it should be, and also in the metric system - kilos and liters - which is used in Communist countries, where even their bombs are measured in kilos. How much more Communist can you get? This has to stop. Even if American products are not made or sold in America, let those Communists figure out how many kilotons are in that bag of dog food and how many millimeters are in their containers of milk. We shouldn't make it easy for them.
And, while we're at it, have you noticed that descriptions are in American and also French or Spanish or whatever the hell languages they speak in Communist countries. This is America. The only language on the package should be American. And, while we're at it, any products made in foreign countries, including Canada and Australia and such, must be in American only.
So, what say you DU? Can we gin up some hysteria on this?
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

(21,846 posts)Pet food measured in English units and Metric units but not in paw units?
Someone should add these other units and languages to the labels.

Its a perfect subject for manufactured rwnj outrage.

(12,463 posts)Cat food has been scarce. Wet food is picked over, not many cans left.
It's starting to seem like there is a cat food shortage here.

(2,815 posts)There has been a shortage of Friskies pate here in Wisconsin for 8 months at least. I can get the Multipacks from Walmart of Friskies pate which helps. I have 7 cats and I found anything other than pate seemed to cause chin acne in my cats. I might locate 10 cans or so of pate at the grocery store and then have to go back to Walmart. The problem with Multipacks is some of the flavors my cats don't care for like Mixed Grill. Even Pet Supplies Plus has a shortage of pate.
I bought Multipacks from Amazon but got ripped off (mostly my own fault) paying $34 for 4 cans of Turkey flavored Friskies pate. Never order anything when you're tired on-line.
40 pound boxes of cat litter have returned at the grocery store. Before, the shelves were empty except for the smaller containers.
I'm worried that "Covid 2: Electric Boogaloo" might cause a shortage again.

(12,463 posts)Ironically my Othello does not like pate.
And the fancy feast multipack I got has pate in it.
Couldn't buy individual cans because they were no cans to be found. So yeah, I was pissed.
Luckily a person I know ,thier cat likes pate.
She has to see how many cans of shredded and minced cat food cans she's got and we'll trade.
