Strange Question to Math/Stats/Basketball Fans

Okay, this is going to seem like a very very strange question.

I'm a huge Basketball Fan, Ive follow the game since I was 12, I've now hit the big 50, and
I don't think I have come across this situation in terms of the Box scores, it just doesn't seem right,
perhaps that's too Harsh, but it seems off.

Am I right in saying that the box score of a Basketball game, will normally show the Starting Five,
getting the most minutes, the bench sharing the rest of the minutes. Of course fouling out, injuries,
players not playing well, bench players doing better, can change this.

Their is a coach, that I don't know, I have no connection to, I have no family or friends that have connection to this
coach, they're been coaching for decades, the boxscore of the different teams that they've coached seems different to
anything I have ever seen. They coach several different teams.

The boxscore of their games, doesn't seem to change no matter what the situation of the game is.

The boxscore of their games go like this......

40 Minute Game, four ten minute quarters.

Starting Five (remember they have coached different teams)

One player gets 40 Minutes
One player gets 34 Minutes
The other three players may get 8 to 10 Minutes

The entire bench may get around the same number of minutes than the three players on the starting five.

Again doesn't matter what the situation of the game is, team coached by this coach could be up by 60.

Another thing, the three players in the starting five, may be brilliant shooters, may be shooting at 100%, yet they
take very few shots.

This may sound like a bizarre question, but am I missing something???? it cant just be a unique coaching style that
only this coach uses, but it seems totally out of sync when compared to every other boxscore I have seen.

Just thought if their was a Math or stat or even another Basketball fan that can explain it to me.

Maybe if you play a weird pressure defense with three players going all out you would rotate those three positions like hockey players. When I was a HS varsity assistant, we had a game plan like that for a team that was much better in talent than us.

Also when we ran an inverted triangle and two against a team that had two of the top 20 college prospects. We chewed up fouls on those guys and hid our best scorer in the zone portion.

Look on you tube to see if they play a full court press that would totally gas players to account for short rotation minutes.

Would be very hard to do because usually a team only has 7-9 players who are good enough to play and this system would require trust in all the players.

Also the gaming houses have corrected the flaw that allowed the amounts shown in the pools to reflect different odds than those on the tote boards. The flaw allowed for users to see changes in the pools close to real time. Now the amounts posted in the pools stay fairly constant - bad news for guys like me.
