(34,105 posts)if I qualify. I have RA, it is pretty mild so I do not need to treat it all the time. When it flares up I take a course of Prednisone and that usually takes care of it in a week or two. Not sure that qualifies. I am very glad you are getting yours.

(4,266 posts)We're in Florida, so I don't even know if they're doing them here. He had the first two shots and we found out a little while after that he has stage 4 cancer. There are still small tumors after surgery, but they're not specifically related to blood, and the guidelines I'd seen seemed to relate to blood. Can anyone with cancer and related tumors get the booster?

(44,973 posts)It's for those who receive active treatments for either solid tumors or blood cancers.
People who are eligible include:
"Those receiving treatments for solid tumors or blood cancers."

(4,266 posts)He hadn't been feeling well, they thought maybe he had a small tumor in the colon, opened him up and found a huge tumor. Got 95% of it out and hoped for complete elimination with a specialized technique which would apply chemo directly to the remaining 5%. Unfortunately, it appears to have metastasized to his lungs and liver before they could do this (waiting on a biopsy but they can see the new spots), as it's an aggressive cancer. It may end up being normal chemo, so he'll need all the help he can get. We are being exceptionally careful to not bring anything back to him.

(39,343 posts)Let me know how it goes. I didn't feel anything other than a sore arm from the first two back in March and April.
Good luck.

(14,101 posts)The Board of Pharmacy has not released a protocol so they can't give 3rd shots. Found out the hard way, of course.
