The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI breached the feeding order protocol, this morning. Sophie is highly offended
The kittens were SO loud and frenzied, this morning, I fed them first, just to get some peace. After I put them down by their bowls, I went into the kitchen and was confronted by a highly offended Sophie Stinky Toes, giving me a world class stink eye. She went on to pretend she wasn't hungry, anyway. Of course, the food will disappear, in due time.
When I walked outside with the food for Mittens and Scooter, they came BOUNDING over. Mittens is getting slightly more comfortable about closing that distance between us. Scooter? Not so much but there is a slight improvement.
Heck, it isn't even really light, yet, and I almost feel in need of a nap. But at least it's peaceful, again, because I gave each kitten that 5 minutes of individual cuddling.

(6,549 posts)At my house I get a triple stink eye if I put the coffee on before feeding the fur babies. Hmmm, wonder who set this standard at my house.

(3,322 posts)No one can thank you, enough for helping those kitties.
Despite your love and generosity, there will always be at least one in the bunch who disses you. Cats will be cats.
Humans think you are a hero. Blessings.

(26,260 posts)I have a 20% off one item coupon for Ollies and I'm going to see if they have a medium sized cat tree. I know I've seen them, before. All 4 of these kittens really love to climb. That might give them a good way to burn off some energy.

(9,265 posts)I can always find something I didnt realize I needed. And sometimes a treasure that I did need at a ridiculously low price. My boys love their cat tree (we call it the cat house) and it gives them a place to go out of reach of my 2 yo granddaughter.

(1,794 posts)Thank you for the beautiful daily kitty stories. I dream of my cats who've passed, and I dream weekly of kittens and my boy Blue (who was gotten by coyotes). Now we have two boys in a catio in our rural area (Vashon Island) and a bevy of raccoons, crows, eagles, deer, and oh yes coyotes.

(26,260 posts)It is fun, watching these little fluffballs start to grow and change. And those sweet little eyes looking up at me, every morning, just melts my heart all over again.
Hopefully I can find them some sort of enrichment equipment today - specifically a smaller cat tree.

(972 posts)Let me know they didnt care about that. Dog and especially cats always know what time it is dont they?
Who wants that hour of sleep anyway?
Glad things are coming along!!
