The group held on for a few more years and then had numerous reunions with various members (but rarely all 4 of them). Peter (RIP) had quit by 1971.

Their eleventh album Justus was released in 1996.

It was the first since 1968 on which all four original members performed and produced. Justus was produced by the Monkees, all songs were written by one of the four Monkees, and it was recorded using only the four Monkees for all instruments and vocals, which was the inspiration for the album title and spelling (Justus = Just Us).

I remember hearing them on that, not knowing who there were at first, but not hating it.

Keep in mind, my tastes at the time ranged from Alice in Chains to Fiona Apple.

Oh well.
