(484 posts)this fuy spent a lot of time saying a)each animal has their own likes and dislikes and b) pay attention to the animals reactions. He might have given some pointers about spots where most horses like being scratched - like chin, poll and whithers. Watch the ears, tail and general body attitude. Bribes help - carrot, apple, watermelon, etc.
Horses are extremely social animals. Most enjoy the attention of humans they are familiar with, some love attention from anyone, some are only comfortable around a few trusted humans, some just dont want to be handled a lot. Pretty much the same variation as all the rest of us animals.
