The Stumbler
Once my wife and I purchased a dining room table. We failed to notice the legs of the table stuck out in a very stealthy manner. As a consequence of this we proceeded to stumble over this breakfast nook menace for years. Finally, we named it the Stumbler and got rid of it.
And now the rest of the story. Years later we visited a neighborhood open house. In one of these homes we spotted another Stumbler in the kitchen. My wife and I took a seat and waited. A minute went by and, sure enough, a guest was had by the Stumbler and almost did a Buster Keaton face plant.
Dining room schadenfreude. It’s a thing.
