One moment, Squeaky is wide awake, while Madoc's eye lids seem a bit heavy. The next moment - both in dream land.
And their 'Moggy Mam' is exhausted! Between this awful heat, getting the first batch of Marinara Sauce started, and chasing after 4 fur balls of energy, I'm ready for bed, too!
Side note: If 'Smokey' does end up staying with me, Sophie and Madoc, I'm doing a name change to Morgan. Gotta keep that Welsh theme running.

(115,596 posts)I will be putting in my reincarnation application to be a cat next time.
I just keep thinking of the life these four would have had, had I not spotted them, compared to the life they will now have.
I found out one of my neighbors, at the other end of the subdivision, also has a feeding station for ferals. I'll have to go up and have a chat with her, and find out we are feeding the same ones.

(6,788 posts)Pronounced moog. How about Mwgyn (Moogwyn) for Smokey Morgan.
I would take that little tyke in a hot minute.

(25,816 posts)I currently have one cat, about 5 years old I adopted from the local shelter a bit over a year ago. A few weeks ago I had a kitten spend the night with us (neighbor across the street had excess kittens) but decided a new kitten was more work than I was willing to deal with. Sigh.
Perhaps I should foster some kittens.

(26,250 posts)I spend a lot of time playing with, and just plain keeping an eye on them. It's a bit easier, now that I have the en suite bathroom fixed up for them. I can get some house and yard work done, knowing these growing kittens have a big and safe place to play.
Today I have to make another kitten food run. And kitten 'wet' food is expensive, when feeding four. But that's ok. I want them as healthy as they can be.
Funny thing, though. I read that you should keep kittens on kitten food until they are about a year old. The feral kittens have been eating adult food for a LONG time and they are thriving.
Hmm. Just caught a whiff of kitten poo. Hopefully it's in the litter box.
