The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsIt's just past 2AM and I have been staying up watching
Blade, Constantine, Ghost Rider. I should be sleeping.
What is wrong with me. Anymore I sleep in more, stay up late and basically just kick it. It's boring.
So this is retirement. I hate it.

(13,580 posts)I lost a lot of weight and am dying to meet someone and have a love life again. I'm in great shape but the clock is ticking. Some nice lady needs to take advantage of me.

(46,966 posts)One of my friends is highly educated, liberal, and gay. And very busy with work and school.
So it was easier to try online dating.
But I agree, the old fashioned way of meeting people is another way to meet people.
Getting out and joining activities with kindred spirits.

(32,634 posts)I'm waking up earlier than I want to, and at night I'm so tired and go to bed earlier. I used to be a night owl, staying up well past midnight even when I had work the next day. But nowadays, I conk out early sometimes before 11 p.m. I try to read in bed but I can't get past the first page. It's just immediate ZZZ's for me.
But ... I wake up at something like 4 a.m. get up and go to the bathroom, and go back to bed. THAT's when I'm wide awake, and I read for a couple of hours. This happens night after night.
I know age has something to do with it, but it's an entirely different pattern from me as a full-time working stiff.
