My mother's husband is being intubated today
They’re moving him to another hospital in a bigger city in order to put him on a ventilator. I’m not terribly surprised.
He’s in his late 70s, unvaccinated.
My mother is still at home, sounding worse. She definitely has a cough, and either she’s suppressing it or she’s out of breath. She still refuses to go to the hospital. She’s in her early 80s, and unvaccinated.
I know how this will end.

Even though it was their decision, that doesn’t likely give you much comfort. A couple I know both and cared about died from covid after having thrown themselves in harms way (they chose to fly to a funeral in Missouri before vaccines even though both were elderly, and had serious respiratory issues. I found myself being angry at them.
Sad for all your suffering. 
I hope you can have a meaningful and memorable last talk.
