Theyre moving him to another hospital in a bigger city in order to put him on a ventilator. Im not terribly surprised.
Hes in his late 70s, unvaccinated.
My mother is still at home, sounding worse. She definitely has a cough, and either shes suppressing it or shes out of breath. She still refuses to go to the hospital. Shes in her early 80s, and unvaccinated.
I know how this will end.

The VA killed my father.
There is nothing you can do if your Mom is hard headed.
Save yourself.

(8,201 posts)I don't have any words, MissB. Sometimes the people we love make terrible, terrible choices and there's no way to stop them.
All we can do is love them anyway. I feel so badly for all three of you.

(17,274 posts)Even though it was their decision, that doesnt likely give you much comfort. A couple I know both and cared about died from covid after having thrown themselves in harms way (they chose to fly to a funeral in Missouri before vaccines even though both were elderly, and had serious respiratory issues. I found myself being angry at them.
