(17,622 posts)..I could never hold him as when his eyes opened he immediately was scared of me. He died of some massive tumor on his face..he should have never lived that long.
We buried him in the yard with a bowl of his feed and one of his toys. I have his wheel in my curio cabinet. I used to listen to him run in it all night long.
Godspeed, Mousie...

(205,237 posts)I felt bad for him because he was the only mouse left in the terrarium in the store. My mother freaked out and said I should "take him back," but there was no way - and I'd already had frogs and turtles. He was a cute little guy, he had a cage with a wheel that he loved, but I could take him out and pet him and let him run around.
I named him Franklin D Roosevelt, "Frank" for short, and when I went away to summer camp, my grandmother, another "animal person," would "mouse sit" for me and she took a darling photo of him eating his morning blueberry.
When I went away to school, I took him with me. At my boarding school we weren't allowed pets, but I could easily hide his cage in my closet. I had him halfway through my first year in college, they were fine with me bringing him there. He was probably my favorite pet along with my dogs...

(9,291 posts)he was just a feeder mouse, but he lived for about 2 years. He loved coco pebbles or Capt crunch cereal as a snack. He would squeak when he found them, Beat up straws. Cute little guy.
