They all started life in our garden with an 'are you my mother' moment with either my wife or me. Now they just sit close by when we do our gardening - or dash out from underfoot, thinking, I guess, that we must have seen them sitting there.
This beauty was sitting comfortably as you please, nibbling away at something vital and important, I'm sure, while my wife and I talked beside the vegetable garden. A most serendipitous pose for me with the camera conveniently in pocket.
front garden, no lawn. bunny's in there, somewhere )
btw: it's been an amazing garden season, with me home to tend it. If enough folks say they want a better view, I'd be glad to put what I got this year together in a post. (not in the gardening group, where garden pics go to die)

(5,120 posts)5. I always speak to the little brown bunny that lives near my yard,
and comes over most days to graze on whatever that grows here that it likes so much. It rarely moves as I go about my activity in the back yard then return to the house, and it'll still be out there when I'm back inside.

(85,917 posts)6. my wife had a little conversation with a little one who was eyeing her strawberries
...she told bunny they might not be friends anymore.
"We can get along, but it's all on you. A long healthy life in store, but not if I see you at my strawberries!"
Bunny turned back to munching on some weeds, biding time, I'm sure, until she walked back to the house.
We see you, bunny!

(23,812 posts)7. Two of my favorite childhood books are...
Rabbit Hill and its sequel, The Tough Winter. The main characters are a rabbit family and all their friends. I've had a soft spot for rabbits ever since.
I've re-read the books as an adult, and enjoyed them all over again.
