Today I have this running around in my brain. Don't like it, never liked it and haven't heard it in years, but it pops up today out of nowhere.
Burt Bacharach
Hey! Little Girl
Comb your hair, fix your makeup
Soon he will open the door
Don't think because there's a ring on your finger
You needn't try anymore
For wives should always be lovers too
Run to his arms the moment he comes home to you
I'm warning you...
Day after day
There are girls at the office
And men will always be men
Don't send him off with your hair still in curlers
You may not see him again
For wives should always be lovers too
Run to his arms the moment he comes home to you
He's almost here...
Hey! Little girl
Better wear something pretty
Something you'd wear to go to the city and
Dim all the lights, pour the wine, start the music
Time to get ready for love
Time to get ready
Time to get ready for love

(12,153 posts)Thats why I cant stand that song, vocal versions anyway. Jazz musicians often play it as an instrumental, and its a good tune musically, but I have a hard time forgetting the lyrics even then.
Maybe this will help cleanse your musical palette:

(31,513 posts)I tried not to force them on my children, either. My boys can cook, clean and do laundry and my daughter can bait her own hook and change a tire.
When I was in 7th or 8th grade, we had a textbook in our "Health" class that advised girls on hairstyles and clothing choices based on your body size and face shape. Yep, part of our health lesson was how to make yourself more attractive to boys.

(790 posts)I wasn't a fan of "Crazy" by Cee Lo Green. But the emotional way this guy on a subway sings it has caused this worm to burrow into my skull.

Pretty sure the same was said a while back about some Barney song.

Or if you prefer a non-shitty sounding version, that contains the entire song, not the radio edit ...

(22,243 posts)Earworm of the day is "Our Love is Here to Stay" which was triggered by another thread about father/daughter dance songs at a wedding. So I pulled up 3 different versions (Tony Bennet, Nat King Cole, and Sinatra) and posted them in the thread.
It has been stuck in my head since. I could do a lot worse don't you think?
For a couple of days it was the theme music to the original "Ducktales" which is a very cool song.
I have a highly suggestible brain I think because it doesn't take much for something to get hung up in there.
