Just finished mowing the lawn, and it was more like an early Spring mow than an October one

I just mowed a week ago, but had to set the blade on high. Normally when I do the trim work with the push mower, the bag is maybe half full. Today is was almost over flowing!

Then it dawned on me. Every single year there's been a 3 or even 4 week stretch when mowing just isn't necessary because everything is dried out. This year I've had to sometimes mow twice a week, and NEVER caught that break.

Admittedly, I did my last mow in early November, last year, but I just wanted the lawn to be well mowed before it stopped growing, for the year. Maybe buy me some time in the Spring. And it worked. Who knows what the situation will be, this year. Mowing at Thanksgiving time? Wouldn't surprise me, one single bit.
