Looking to cut the cord in the next month or so but I don't want to buy a Sling TV as my Sony supports Hulu live and Youtube Tv. Which of the two would you recommend?

(15,265 posts)You can watch it on internet enabled device and most likely on your Sony Tv.

Pro tip: buy a pre-pay Visa card at the store, use that number if they demand a CC number. Then spend all the money you put on the card.

My citi card lets me create a virtual card that you can cancel at any time.
This makes it so you dont have to remember to cancel after the free trial.

(14,811 posts)I had Sling for a long time until they lost the local Fox sports channel. Then I tried Hulu Live & I didn't care for the format all that much. I switched to YouTube Live & I liked that much more. Then they added like eight channels I wasn't really interested in, raised the monthly fee $15 & then they lost the local Fox sports channel too (Hulu live did at the same time also).
Of the three Sling is the cheapest & almost as many channels as YouTube Live. Hulu would be my last choice but it's okay & they do have some good exclusive original content.
If your TV won't download or accept the Sling app, you could get a Roku for like $20 & get it that way, as well as most other streaming channels & services (including a lot of free ones).
Most of the services have free previews & it doesn't cost anything to cancel any of them so you could bounce between them & see which works best for you.

(9,291 posts)the remote works great with all my other channels. We dont have that many commercials, and some are just pretty shots with zen music. Im sure that will change one day. We have had it for four months now, were happy with it.

(4,919 posts)... Disney bought Hulu last lear... Both Hulu and Disney+ have great original content. I haven't heard much about YouTube getting into the original content game.
I am biased because I know someone who is a Hulu engineer, but Hulu has the best, most stable streaming technology... from my experience. I use it primarily with an Apple TV.
