(12,462 posts)Named Vinnie. He was a straw thief. I would warn guests if they had a cup with a straw in it Vinnie would steal it. Vinny was so good at stealing straws he would get it out of the cup and we all didnt notice him doing it.He stole it right under our noses. We would notice sometimes when he jumped to the floor straw in his teeth sometimes we didnt even catch him at all stealing straws..
One day I moved a carpet under my art table and I must have found a hundred straws there. Later I moved the fridge to clean behind it and there was easily a hundred straws were under it too.
He had a straw stash on both floors of the house!
I still have the glass straw holder I bought to keep him out of my reuseable straw stash.
He went for the plastic one time use ones he liked those the best. But I found a few of my reuseable straws under the fridge tho.
Must have left my cup unattended and he got them
My glass straw jar is cat proof and blue cobalt glass with a lid you pull up and out to get a straw than it snaps back closed.
I so miss my sweet Vinnie. He'll be at the rainbow bridge with a mountain of straws.

(2,218 posts)cigarette packs. Eventually the crispiness would fade and the pack would disappear. She'd throw out a new one.
It was only when she moved that she found the cat's stash. Under a dresser were dozens of cigarette packs shoved together!

(12,462 posts)Sounds like that kitty not only had a stash, it was a well organized stash.

I did a search and found, like, a dozen of them under the couch

(90,762 posts)The cats love to bat them around and play "handball" against walls and doors with them.
They also like to hide them in my shoes either as presents or to keep the dogs from finding them.
They even enjoy playing catch with the bones. Toss a few and they all try to catch them with their paws.
They sit and watch the dogs chew on a bone for a bit, but once the dog walks away from the bone the bone then belongs to the cats. They snatch it up and run away with it.
They always have a supply of old bones in their beds and around their various cat houses.
The dogs demand new bones once the cats take their old bones.
Not sure they aren't working together on this.
We go through a lot of bones.

(21,417 posts)My cat used to stash my earrings in various places - my shoes, boots, under throw rugs, under the couch.
I caught her one day pulling open a drawer on my jewelry box so I taped it shut. She tore the tape off and took a couple more earings. I had to put the jewelry box on a closet shelf and keep the door closed. She is 6 years old now and has outgrown that habit. So long as I don't take off the earrings and lay them on the dresser or on my desk, they are safe.
She also likes to take coins, walk off with them, and then drop them wherever she is when sonething else gets her attention.
She likes bling.

(90,762 posts)Jewelry and coins. She can barter them back at a later time for treats.

(21,417 posts)I keep a small wad of one dollar bills to use in vending machines. Since I'm not going places to use them, I put them on my dresser top, folded over and rubber banded together.
One morning, as I sat at the kitchen table, she came out of the bedroom with the money in her mouth and walked past me toward the door looking very serious and purposeful.
Was she telling me to buy her a new toy? Or that she thinks I should get out more?

(90,762 posts)Or she has a stash somewhere.
Your cat sounds adorable!

(21,417 posts)but I am obviously biased. She is very quirky even for a cat. Very entertaining, and sometimes I would swear that she knows that she is entertaining me with her antics.

(25,444 posts)No matter where my sister hid them, the cat eventually found them.
One evening she brought a new gentleman caller back to her apartment and they were in the living room, talking, the cat busy playing with something. To her horror, she realized it was a tampon.
