14. Fixed a 20 year problem this week.

My entrance deck to the house is a 50 x 8 deck. Messed up on the footings bigtime. Re-engineered a new carrier that took out 6 posts that warped the deck in every direction. Now back to X/Y/Z level. Spent 3 days with a great young fella who pro-drops 60' Spruce with a 36" butt,,,,10 ft from my garage. We clicked on doing this deck rebuild, from deconstruct to repair - recalibrate - reconstruct. Fun time, though the old bones remind me every morning,

It’s a pretty good vodka, and they’re anti-Trump, so: bonus!

Those Islay whiskies are wonderful. I took a 5 minute ferry ride to Jura and liked them even better.

Each distillery has an open house with generous pours, food and music. People came from all over the world. It was a serious education!

we passed through a little town where a lorry carrying barrels of unblended Scotch had overturned, and several barrels broke open. Scotch was running down the street and into the gutter. The townspeople were standing around, watching in horror...
