less calm than longhorns. I only know this because the pasture across the road from me has some very sweet and friendly longhorns but the highland cows will take you down if you are not careful. It may just be these but that is all I know. The one in the video looks pretty calm and sweet and he says his are docile so....I have no experience with them so I don't really know anymore than the cattle across the road.

I love waking up and looking across big pond and across the road and seeing those gigantic beasts.

like any other domesticated animal, it mostly depends on how you interact with them

we had one around when I was a kid, she was a good mother and not really much of a pet. did fine even in hot summers in SE AZ.
that steer doesn't have them, but a trait many have is ears that are kind of split at the tips. every now an then a calf is born here with those ears and I know it is a descendant of that old highlander.
