I actually got choked up, watching this.

We used to have a "tame" blue jay back in California years ago. The neighbors referred to him as "Joe Jay." Everybody provided peanuts for him, including us. One of the things we'd do is stand, still, in the middle of the backyard, with a peanut on the top of our heads. That worked QUITE well!

Birdies! Love 'em! And that's just one more reason why we have indoor cats.

We have dozens of sparrows that frequent our patio, and lots of chickadees.

The sparrows are the definition of flighty - if we even walk near the sliding doors out to the patio, they all rush away. They never go far, and they come right back, but it takes almost nothing to set them off. I wonder if they could get used to us.
