The other night, my lady and I were sitting in the living room... I was reading and she was looking through the 'bundle' sale section of VUDU to see if there was anything she wanted to purchase. She saw the complete Addams Family series from the 60's for real cheap (I forget how much it was but not much) and we decided it would be a good addition.
A few hours later we went to bed and were going to watch some TV and decided to go right for our new addition. Now... I've not watched this series for decades... Probably not seen it since sometime in the early 80's. And as the first episode started, I actually said out loud... "Hey... Thats not Carolyn Jones"... "Of course it is, who else would it be" my lady said to me.
I was really troubled by this. Everything else was as I remembered it. I got up and went over to the computer and started looking up pictures and they were all of this new woman. I looked up pictures of others who have played Morticia... Nope, not them. I looked up random pictures of people dressed up as Morticia... Nope. Similar characters like Lily Munster or Elvira... Nope... Sheesh.
Everything else is exactly as I remember it... Other actors, sets, costumes (including Morticia's), plots, the house... All of it. Carolyn Jones simply does not look very much like I remember her looking in the series but instead a completely different person... Like... Her voice does not even sound like the same person I remember.
No idea what to make of it but man... It is really messing with my head

(21,752 posts)I'm almost 60 and I've acknowledged for a few years now that my memory is absolutely not what it used to be, I do forget stuff I never used to forget. What messes me up with this, is that I don't feel like I'm forgetting... I'm remembering it different. So it's a new and different and disturbing brain fart
