The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsIt finally stopped raining. Skittish, Mittens the Kitten and Scooter were all at the front door.
I never feed them in the front of the house. I think they had probably been running from door to door to see if I'd notice they were HUNGRY. Poor kitties. I made up their bowls, pulled on my wellies and stayed outside until they noticed the food was served. They are now in the back yard, gobbling down a nice wet/dry mix.
There may just come a day when they figure out how to ring the doorbell.

(115,674 posts)He knows I'm in there and that I have food for him. Sometimes he stalks me when I'm outside. The other day he was across the street and down the block and apparently saw me heading for my house (I'd parked on a side street so a painter could park in the driveway), and came running to the house while I came in the back door, and I found him right at the front door, waiting.

(2,860 posts)That happens when all the cats are eating their wet food at the same time.

(46,037 posts)It wouldn't come near yesterday because of all the rain. The other feral got some food from the front porch, where there was a tiny spot that wasn't wet. The back door cat doesn't know about the front porch.
Plus, their water got dirty, but there wasn't much to do about that until the rain stopped. I gave them fresh water this morning, and the front porch kitty had a long drink. Front porch kitty also comes to the back.
