(50,130 posts)Have you seen that Lay's commercial where the (very pretty) woman is opening a bag and taking that first chip?
That ad drives me nuts. No chips for me.

(36,416 posts)Couple of decades ago, I could have eaten that entire loaf in one go, and given half a chance, and if I had a second loaf, it would inhale that one, too.
Times have changed; ice cream sandwiches walked in with that loaf of raisin bread and I did the smart thing by opting to eat dessert before dinner. Mmmm, ice cream sandwiches.
The raisin bread will have to wait for breakfast. Two slices of raisin toast with my coffee while I consider what to eat for breakfast. Yes, that's the plan.

(20,234 posts)I got five 8oz containers of fresh mushrooms at aldis marked down to 49 cents each. The same evening, I saw they had a few packs of chicken thighs that had to be sold that day. I asked the manager if they were going to mark them down - she ran and got her stickers for me, and I got 12 lbs of thighs for $3. Woohoo! I love aldis!
The next day I spotted a GIANT bag of fresh mushrooms at my market for a dollar, so I had to get that too.
What I'm trying to say - no snacks tonight because I've eaten a frightening amount of chicken mushroom soup.

(5,364 posts)To cut carbs and calories during the workweek, I switched my after work relaxation drink from beer to wine. Trouble is that I'm finding wine, espescially red, gives me the munchies like you can't believe. Normally I satisfy these with cucumbers and radishes ( filling but low calories ) but I just can't stand it anymore and had to have big salty hard pretzels. I'm glad I don't have any really fatty foods on the house because right now I feel like eating a 15 ounce rare ribeye steak.

(47,675 posts)It's a lot cheaper to make your own, you can be creative, and there's NOTHING like slicing into a warm loaf of fresh bread!!! My middle daughter does a lot of baking and I always look forward to her creations.

(4,187 posts)and that is unusual now.
so I had malto meal for breakfast (get things moving)
had breakfast for lunch (at the local diner)
and now I'm having a big milk for a snack (I'm home from work early unexpectedly)...
will probably just have water and or juice for the evening since I had so much last night late.
I've also learned to back off calories the next day if I ate late the night before.
It's not how many times you stop...it's about how many times you get going again.
