Seeking some of those famous DU Vibes as I prospect for new business this week
When you're a sole proprietor, you're "chief cook & bottle washer"...there IS no "sales force," YOU are the sales force. I have a dollar amount I need to hit by the end of this week. I've done it before. I have a whole week to make it happen. It can be done but I need to get my head screwed on right before the sun comes up tomorrow. Sometimes you make this kind of sale on the second or third call of the day. Sometimes you make it on the 99th or the 199th. This is going to be a "whatever it takes" week.
There is a sales axiom that says "the easiest time to make a sale is immediately after you've made one." That's half of what I'm facing...it's been a dry spell that has caused a multitude of problems. But if I need the money in my hand by Friday the 10th, that gives me four days and as many hours as I can handle in each. I am usually up at 3 AM every day. That doesn't help with businesses that aren't open yet but it gives me prep time, and many businesses are open until 9 or 10 at night.
. I definitely do not have, and I am definitely asking. I am not asking Jesus to send me a magic Lotto ticket while I sit on my ass and do nothing (see paragraph 2 above). But if the substance behind that piece of Scripture is that we ask and the Lord empowers us with the wisdom and skills and the right words and the right timing and the stamina to "have" what we "asked" for, that's what I need.The issue is not that I "don't know what to do." The issue is that it may very well require 4 back-to-back-to-back-to-back 20 hour days, and because of some of the ugliness surrounding the people I owe this money to, I am mentally and physically exhausted. My task is to get as much sleep as I can tonight, get up tomorrow, take a shower, put on my best business clothes, and go hunting. And I will do it, because if it's in the cards for me to go down in flames on Friday, I will...to paraphrase Tom Petty...go down swingin' like Tommy Dorsey.

the fruit of your hard work.....not for you to reach a certain sales number.
The reason for that is...I hope you don't make your sales number by selling things to people that they don't need or want. Nothing good comes from that, even for you. Karma.
And maybe it is destiny for you to have a certain kind of week, that is less than what you need or want...maybe something good will come from that in the long run.
But I will send you my vibes for your hard work (and it DOES sound like you work extremely hard!) to pay off, for you to be rewarded, for karma to come your way.

Big challenge is going to be strolling calmly through the field of opportunity. Consistency of effort and tenacity...that's what my gut is telling me.
I will make a point to log in Friday evening so I can jump on the bandwagon of your victory thread...

...thanks also for the reminder about that "passion" thing. I've had clients give me that feedback. My goal for the next four days will be to let go of the money concerns and relax enough to let everything else come across positively.
