Anyone going out to eat these days?

A good friend and I both have birthdays next week, and we usually have dinner together then. We didn't last year because of the plague.

Just wondering how safe you feel going out now? We have a nice little Mexican restaurant here locally that is a favorite.

2. Only where there's outdoor seating.

So after mid-October, maybe earlier, I'm back to take-out.

3. Husband and I go out occasionally to a couple of places.

Always go on off hours, typically 2-3pm for both a local Chinese Restaurant and a local Mexican restaurant. If we were to get there and it was too busy Iíd do take out. But through observation these times appeared to be down times and so far itís worked. Also wear masks going in, while ordering and leaving.

4. Less than ten times since the pandemic started I'm sure.

My son and I went to a seated restaurant about three weeks ago.
And oddly enough it was a Mexican restaurant as well.

I went about six months before getting a haircut after it first started.

5. My wife and I go out, but we are both vaccinated and boosted.

We do like to go places with outside dining, but have done some inside dining as well. If you're up on your shots and in good health, I would go for it. Enjoy and happy birthday!

7. Vaxxed and boosted, we only eat outdoors in the summer a few times.

In the winter there is a nice ethnic place with igloo's out on their patio.
We only do curb side shopping.

8. Wishing you an early Happy Birthday 🎉

Yes, go out but at an off hour when you can find a parking lot almost empty.

Hubs and I did this a couple of weeks ago and felt safe...but kinda strange because it had been so many months. We ordered hot food, no salads, just to be a bit safer.

🎉🎂🎉

than ever. I eat out 7 days a week. I usally go to fast food on weekends because I don't want to wait an hour to eat.

10. When I rarely now go out to eat, I notice that my former favorite

haunts have noticeably lowered their quality. (I am a VERY good cook, and like everyone I cooked all my own food during the pandemic.) So I'm more likely to resist going out to eat because I always now end up feeling it's a waste of money. (But I still loathe doing the dishes!!! )

16. My wife is a gourmet chef, too

We don't go out to eat much in Cape Cod, because she makes better-tasting food than almost all the restaurants there, and they have have some spectacular ones!

25. The dishwasher does that

I bring the dishes to the dishwasher. If Iím good, she sometimes even lets me put them in there. By the way, sometimes I do the cooking, too. On days when I have to get up at five in the morning for work and donít get home until ten at night, which is more than half the time, I admit that I donít do the cooking.

15. We have done it in the USA about 7 times since I've been here (June 29th).

Four times in Provincetown, MA, once in Wellfleet, MA, once in Boston, and once last Tuesday in Washington, DC.

The first six times were only with family, sometimes only with my wife, or with my wife and my brother. In Washington, it was with people we don't see on a regular basis, and we got a small almost-room, since one of our party has some permanent medical issues, and I didn't want to expose her to anything.

So far, so good, though I haven't tested myself in the last couple of days.

17. Quadruple vaxxed

and outdoor dining is fine but did go out few nites ago as a thank you to the brother-in-law and he said let's sit inside. SO we found a booth away from folks and hoping for the best. Saw my doc yesterday and she flew to India to visit her parents and GOT COVID (she thinks she got it on the plane). She is fine now. Prefer picking up at a restaurant and bringing it home.

18. I went 3 times earlier this year

I felt safer with low numbers and having the 2nd booster. Now, not going in to eat. Leery about prepared food in general, but I ordered some hot takeout or delivery.

I would eat on a patio or other outdoor area, but I won't go in again any time soon.

Happy birthday to you and your friend

19. Now that I'm 4th boosted, I go on off hours.

If it gets busy, I'm out.

I expect the 2nd plague to get worse,
so I'll have to determine at what point
I stop going out again.

Otherwise, I mask up.

23. What are the numbers in your community?

Are indoor tables well spaced? Do people in your community generally mask inside at stores?

I don't go out to eat much, but have had lunch a few times with a friend. We choose restaurants where tables aren't packed together. College town ( high rate of vaxxed, boosted) and people still mask indoors. I've also eaten outside with family.

24. We were starting to go out again

Since vaxed and boosted but now that my husband caught covid he says he is going nowhere and I am realizing how lucky I was not to get it.

I might outside. My doctor told me a year ago not to eat out even outside. That was before all the vaccines but also before the variants.

I was doing errands yesterday, its been a week and I tested negative 3 times so doc said I could go out with mask. Most of the places I went I was only one wearing a mask.

No wonder its being spread all over. Don't people realize this is airborne?

28. No outdoor seating anywhere in these parts

And the place we usually go has back to back booths. So, we'd be looking at a late lunch, or very early dinner, I guess.

Thanks all for the input.
