Avid Twitter users - looking for some advice.....

I am still learning the ropes and lately with all the idiocy going on find myself embroiled in more political tweets...last night I think I crossed a line and ended up with Rush's brother David in on a reply thread (I said a few not nice things about Rush listeners) - and had half of Dittohead Twitterdom coming down on me.

So - if any of you have found yourself in a similar entanglement....what's the best thing to do? Lay low? Block the dittoheads? Let the thing pass (my assumption is that there is a very short memory on twitter).....

went to bed quite agitated at some of the crap that came my way!

(Maybe the best advice is just step away from the Twitter...but I do find some great news items getting passed around and I know I am following quite a few people here)

Of course, the flipside of that is that Twitter allows asymmetrical "following" relationships...so you're probably on their radar forever and probably that of a lot of their friends that you don't know exist. Don't sweat it, Twitter is a battleground.

Block them if you want to but you've probably gained a following. I always like to remember Woodrow Wilson's words though:

"I have long enjoyed the friendship and companionship of Republicans because I am by instinct a teacher, and I would like to teach them something."

some amazing thrusts in that long conversation thread with Rush's unfortunate brother (any family member of Rush's is unfortunate of course). Oh well - my gardening/tomato world may be colliding with my very left wing/big mouth world. What a mess that could be!
