Isn't coffee - a coffee flavored water?

Of course Starbucks every morning 6 or$7. I bought a can of MH cafe for $3.97 or Hazel Nut,4.99 a Lb. That is high compared to a year ago.

I think the last time I got Starbucks was only because I was taking a college class. When I arrived on campus, the weather was sunny and 68-70 degrees, supposed to get up to 75. While I was in class and then doing homework in the library, the weather had gone psycho--damp, cloudy and 36. And there I was with my cotton top and shorts. I grabbed a Starbucks downstairs on my way to the car, for the warmth factor.
I never could get the flavor drinkable, but held onto it as a hand warmer. Threw it away in the trash can closest to my car.
Haven't been back since.

(1,766 posts)I'm super-sensitive to flavors, though, even in water. Tap locally isn't very good, even filtered, and some of the cheaper waters are downright awful. Dasani, in particular, tastes salty and swampy. Makes me gag. I'd rather drink the local supermarket store brand than that swill.
I'll pay the premium for Evian or Fiji if I need water when I'm out and about, but don't know if I can trust the store brand. Evian and Fiji don't have gag-inducing flavors to them, so at least they don't go to waste when I get them.

(6,486 posts)Coffee-flavored water sounds like what you get if you brew a second pot using the same used coffee grounds.

(17,984 posts)Like we used to do when money was tight. Add a spoonful of fresh grounds.

(11,579 posts)Real coffee is actually good for you, too, as long as you don't put unhealthy creamers and sweeteners into it.
