The question I posited was not on this board but a medical support site.
It was a simple question that didnt apply to everyone, but those who it did apply, the answer was simple and definite.
I asked a question and several people who had experienced it answered and gave clear information.
Then others answered the post to say that they didnt know, and another poster who never experienced the thing that I was asking about even answered to give incorrect information. (they were quickly corrected by those who had experienced it)
Who answers to say "I dont know" or worse yet to give incorrect information?
Is it a self-importance kind of thing?

(32,139 posts)is if the person hasn't received any other replies. I'll sometimes answer "I don't know" to kick the thread back up and let them know they aren't just being ignored.

(54,990 posts)if I see a post asking for info and it goes unanswered and is sinking fast I might do the same.
doesn't quite match what this OP is talking about, though. they say the post was already answered.
