It's the little things, really

Lover Boy and I were returning from a much deserved weekend excursion. We had a great time: hiking, dinner, more than 5 hours sleep, it was wonderful.

And yet --

as we were driving home we're listening to his playlist as we always do. He has a love of most music especially classic rock. Elton John's "Saturday Night (is Alright for Fighting)" came on and we just jammed out right there in the car. Steering wheel drums, dashboard piano, singing at the top of our lungs, my hair whipping from side to side, off-key vocals. We were on such a high! As awesome as our time together was for some equally mysterious and glorious reason that three and a half minutes on the way home became the emotional highlight. We were giddy-stupid-laughing for the last 2 hours of the trip home.

It's those little moments.
