Thanks. I'll give it a try. Baitball Blogger Aug 2012 #3
Cleaned it and it's still saying "Bad Disc" on one DVD and Error on the other. Baitball Blogger Aug 2012 #4
Just on a whim, if it only has writing on the inside ring, flip it over. HopeHoops Aug 2012 #5
Thanks Hoops! Baitball Blogger Aug 2012 #6
Okay. I figured it out. I'm a moron. Baitball Blogger Aug 2012 #7
Easy to do that. Now I feel bad for ya because I doubt if Target will exchange... BlueJazz Aug 2012 #8

not sure whats wrong, except have you run a disc cleaner through your DVD machine lately? That might work. I'm upset that they didn't release a DVD/Blu ray combo pack for HG.

You might try cleaning the laser with a q-tip.

This won't be true if it has a printed side, but if the writing is just on the inner circle, I've had discs that were recorded on the wrong side from the printing - like the entire first season of the original Star Trek set. Curiously, seasons two and three were recorded on the correct side. The other thing to check is that it is a "region 1" disc. Players in the US and Japan will NOT play "region 2" discs (everywhere else).

Last night I complained to my husband that our DVD player was outdated and the reason why it wasn't reading the disk was because the disk was developed by current standards.

So when I got back from the store I sheepishly told him I was 50% right.
