OMZ Kelly RIPA's permanent co-host TBA Sep 4. I hope it's GROBAN not Seth MEYERS

Really, she's fine on her own, can't they let her do it alone? Besides that they would save tons by not paying a permanent salary. It's delicious watching her adapt effortlessly to every passing co-host with their different competnence levels and personalities.

Since Josh GROBAN has his big career, he might not be able to be tied down, but the dynamic of her/older and him/younger keeps it the same as when she was the younger one. He can riff off of her and riff on his own but magnetically comes back with due deference to her primary role. Seth MEYERS has a supercilious air, a bit condescending to her, like he's just too smart for her. I like him over on his own gigs, not the way I see him with her.

The MURDOCH rag NY Post said there have been 57 or so co-hosts trying out and that the selectee will be one of them. It also had this odd bit, that the day before the announcement she will be hosting ALONE. Uh, she hasn't done that before?

I can't see it being Seth Meyers. He has a full time job as SNL Head Writer LynneSin Aug 2012 #1

and he is an SNL Cast member.

Since SNL is on hiatus, it's easier for him to do a guest week on 'Live with Kelly' but for him to do that job full time he would have to give up SNL and there has been no indication that he is anywhere close to leaving SNL.

Seth Meyer's comedic edge is better suited for SNL audiences. Most of the viewers for Kelly Ripa's show are stay-at-home-parents or retirees.

And maybe Kelly and Regis were joking when they said the show is a piece of cake, that they walk in, sit yakking for an hour, then are gone. When Regis did the Today show, he (joked?) that he was shocked to have "meetings" before going on the air.

Well, us geezers also "get" the late night comedic edge, but it's just that we fall asleep. But Seth doesn't seem arrogant at SNL, but with her it was like she was a bubblehead to him and it seemed like I caught a little hurt feelings on her when he was a bit dismissive, like she was saying, "I try *so* hard..."

And NOT Michael STRAYHORN, please. He's quick, but full of himself and sucks all the oxygen away.

Which clearly isn't true, ratings have held well I think since Regis left.

However, it's probably more than a symbolic issue, it's a practical one, and I'm sure Ms. Ripa would like the support of having a co-host to fall back upon, so that she can have some kind of personal life and not be glued to that set constantly during its live broadcasting days.

Just wondering if they had to do that male-female thing.

They probably don't want to shadow Kathy Lee with Hoda with a two-woman format. She was in a comedy series with another woman, Faith ????, and the two of them say they are great friends with great chemistry, but Kelly can work with anybody.

The thing for me is to match her with whomever who will let her be the top spot, let her different facets shine through. I guess I really wish they'd let her do it alone with visiting co-hosts.
