A flawed character. Charlie Daniels is. Types like him remind me of advice received from a Sierra Club conference on how to deal with the media.

"Choose your celebrities carefully"

was emphasized. Just because they're famous doesn't mean they'll help your cause. Nor mean that they're particularly bright either. Charlie Daniels fits that description very well.

One year he was campaigning for President Carter, decades later defending Dubya on Iraq invasion. DUMB!

However this surely was a nearly great piece of work by Daniels. I choose to remember him from this happy novelty song. I like to be generous. Enjoy!
